Omaha, Nebraska (KMTV) - According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO), a girl was arrested on Saturday for a dispute with a Douglas County deputy.

Around 2 pm, the authorities were sent to Uta Halee to look for the intruder.

On the way there, the police officers learned through dispatch that the suspect was trying to stab someone at the location.

The first deputy who arrived found the suspect who was driving her car. The deputy police officer tried to detain the suspect, but she refused his order.

The sheriff’s office said that the girl threw white powder, believed to be salt, at the deputy, and then threw a glass jar with a candle in it.

The glass jar hit the deputy's forehead and cut his skin. It was not until later that he realized how injured he was.

The deputy took the suspect to the ground, and the other deputy and the Omaha police helped detain the girl.

The injured deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment. The authorities identified the suspect and will not disclose her name due to age reasons and took her to the hospital, where she underwent a medical examination to make an appointment.

During the investigation, DCSO discovered that the suspect tried to stab the postman with a piece of glass. The suspect did not cause serious harm to the postal carrier-only the red mark because the carrier had a thick coat.

The Sheriff’s Office told the U.S. Postal Inspectors about circumstances that may involve allegations of interference with postal carriers.

The suspect was arrested for second-level assault, second-level assault on police officers, third-level assault on officers, trespass and criminal hoaxes.
